  Starting a Video Game Studio

This has been my dream job since I was a kid. I went to University to study game development and have some years experience in the industry under my belt. I have a number of game ideas in my brain that I want to get out there but I haven't found the time to do it. But, as I mentioned in another thread, I was recently laid off and have been wondering if now is the time to finally do it.
Have you ever started a game studio? How did it go for you? How did you go about raising money? How long until you hired your first employee? Let me pick your brain, please.

  Getting Laid Off

Have you ever been laid off from a company? This is something I'm dealing with right now and would like to hear your input.
So far I've spoken to some people in my network to find job openings and am in the process of sending applications. I'm not too worried because I have experience under my belt and still have good ties with a previous employer, but there's still an element of uncertainty.
How about you? Have you experienced this and if so, how did you handle the situation?

  Investing in real estate

In our office, most of those who had retired have their retirement money put into real estate, mostly empty lots. The plan is to build a house that they can rent out. When they need the money, they can sell the lot. But we are hesitant to do that because thinking of the need for cash, it is not easy to sell the lot. Our plan is to put the retirement money into real estate but only half of it and the other half is to be deposited in the bank. When the need for cash arises, we will not have a problem. There's the suggestion of investing in cars that can be rented out but it's out of our agenda.

Good day, DiscussPF members!
Before investing or spending your money on other things, it is important to have an emergency fund for unforeseen emergencies that may happen in the future. We need to allocate a portion of our income to this fund to build it slowly.
How much is your emergency fund? Do you have a fixed amount that you try to maintain?

  Best Apartment Rental?

I moved to my current apartment in 2014 and at the time, rental prices were through the roof(they are crazier now). Where I live a decent apartment with 2 bedrooms, with kitchen and other essentials went for $500 dollars up. Fate was kind to me because, at the time, my previous apartment had to undergo some repairs because there was a gas leak(safety hazard). Long story short, I met my current landlord when I returned a cell phone I had found. While conversing with her I had mentioned that I was looking for an apartment - It turned out that she had a luxurious apartment complex that she normally rented to friends and business associates for an affordable rate. This apartment complex had its own pool and a lot of amenities. I ended up getting one for $400 when similar apartments went for $1500 minimum and I have been living here ever since. I am currently working towards my own house but until then I am perfectly happy here. Have you ever gotten any real estate deals like this?

  Working after retirement

My uncle in the US retired at age 65 and got another job. He again retired at age 80 and probably received another retirement pay. He was lucky because in the US, age doesn't matter in working. But here in our country, it is difficult for a retiree to get a job again. That's why those working in the office are preparing for their retirement such as saving money for putting up a business. But for me, I was focusing on the internet to earn money for livelihood. And although my earnings are pretty small and couldn't even handle my livelihood, I can say that I am enjoying my freelancing job since I have full control of my time. But in the near future, I know that I should find a job that pays more.

There's this Investment Site which you could invest and buy stocks in different start up companies and businesses around the globe.  It's called....
 Money Online Investment
.....where

I've invested in some stocks last January, they don't have a minimum, you could even buy one share the least priced share is about $3.  They are claiming that they're giving out precomputed dividends on a daily basis and I've earned about $20 since January of this year with only $3O investment in 10 shares worth $3 each.
So I haven't tried withdrawing my earnings although it's available and I would like to ask you guys if you know this site?
Is this site legit or what?

One of the biggest expenses of a family is food.  Family members eat from 3 to 5 meals a day and depending on the number of ones family, it could cost hundreds of dollars a month.
How much do you normally spend in food monthly?
