Starting a Video Game Studio - fantanoice - 06-20-2018

This has been my dream job since I was a kid. I went to University to study game development and have some years experience in the industry under my belt. I have a number of game ideas in my brain that I want to get out there but I haven't found the time to do it. But, as I mentioned in another thread, I was recently laid off and have been wondering if now is the time to finally do it.
Have you ever started a game studio? How did it go for you? How did you go about raising money? How long until you hired your first employee? Let me pick your brain, please.

I have never been into this business before, but it is a nice idea you are bringing on board. I have seen many excelling in this business since a very large population in the world are into video games. I am not sure the exact time you will start realising sensible profits, but I know it all depends on the location, capital, government policies and other factors that may affect such kind of business.

You need to well versed in gaming to guarantee you will succeed in starting up a gaming studio. You need to have good experience and knowledge of what you want to do before going into it, otherwise it's going to be hard for you to cope. As for money, if you don't have enough fund that can open it, you can either borrow or source grants from family and friends.
