When do you think it is a good idea to start saving? I started saving very soon after I got my first job when I was younger, which has allowed me to build up a decent level of savings over time.

Once you start earning money, it's paramount to start up some savings immediately because it's only going to be for your own good. I can remember vividly that I started saving money at the age of 9 years when I was still in primary school.

For me as early as grade school children should be encouraged to save money. I've actually heard a lot about this on TV and some articles where parents encourage their children to save money and it did make a positive on the child's attitude when they were growing up. They became thrifty and responsible with their money and I guess that's a positive attitude especially with the new generation right now being too spoiled and irresponsible when it comes to spending their money.

Saving money shouldn't have a specific time even without working money gotten from parents, friends ,family or even guests can be conserve for something great than spending it on frivolities. I started saving money from.childhood of about 9 or10 or thereabouts

As early as you can, I did it late in life though and I totally regret it. A lot of people feel pressured by their peers to live in a way that they cannot necessarily keep. One example is if you are heading out to a restaurant with friends for lunch, you may feel obligated to match their orders in terms of price. That could be expensive and might break your budget. What I advice to keep your expenses in check is to place your order first so that you get what you can afford without having that feeling of the need to compete. Your wallet will thank you right after.
I think that today's society has gotten away from the saving routine because we now all have easy access to credit. Saving takes the stress out of wondering if you have enough money for yourself or not. Cheers!

Whenever you have something coming into your possession, try and save a percentage of it. For me, I even try to save bits of my student loan for future needs. Earlier in your life, before you have mortgages and huge bills to worry about, you are likely able to save more if you act carefully.

When I got my first job I had no savings and I learned how to save only after 3 years of working different jobs. So I started saving some money and invested in some IPO's overtime I diversified into properties, stocks and endowment plans.
I thing everyone should know about savings is the amount is not important, the important thing is the consistency. If you plan on saving money try getting can and put some coins or your spare change in it daily, don't count it just do it for a month then on the second month, get another can and put in a bill daily it could be $1 or $10 or even higher, just make sure you put in atleast one bill daily. Also seal the can tightly and it a hole in it so that yu you could insert the money in, but can't take it out. Do this for a year and then open the cans and you'll be surprised how much you've saved. This then would be your seed money, invest it on an IPO stock and start saving again. Do that for 10 years, saving and investing and you'll be surprised that you have saved and made a lot of money already.

I think the best time to save is when you have some extra money which has no use. Instead of misusing it, the best thing is to save it. One may require some money for emergency purposes and that saved amount can save someone. I do like saving because, when I need to purchase something I have seen and I do not have cash at hand, I will still purchase that item with the money in my savings account.

The best time to start saving is once we start earning income for it is part of what we earn that we can save and not when we are still students or not employed. Also, there is need for us to remain consistent while on it for that is the best way to do savings when we want to do it.

We should start saving as soon as possible. I started saving when I was still in high school. My savings when I was still a kid have helped me so much.
