Insurance - Aside from Car, Home?
#1
Car insurance is required in many lands, maybe all.  Also, housing insurance is popular, though, I don't know if it's a big required thing.  Anyway, many people are frustrated from stolen property like say, video game systems etc.   In that case, they might want insurance.  Would you?

Ive got fire insurance which is a kind of property insurance, several paid up life plans and endowment plans which I'm planning to cash out soon, I'll have to wait two more years because it's a 15 year endowment plan.  I got it 13 years ago to help finance my kids studes.

I think, the another important thing that you should invest is land. Land can stand for anything. We can use it for farming, we can sell it it in case of emergency, and we cbuild a new hoan eveuse on it as well.

Someone mentioned fire insurance which I think would be important.  However, why not just call it disaster insurance?  I mean, there is a load of problems that could befall a property I think.

Common Insurances in the United States:

Driver's Insurance: everyone must be insured
Homeowner's Insurance: if you take a loan, your lender requires it (almost always). If you can pay the full amount in cash, you technically don't need it. [This would cover fires, which has been mentioned above.]
Renter's Insurance: If you rent a place, it is a good idea to get renter's insurance as it is very cheap ($10-$20 a month)
Flood Insurance: This is required if you own a home in a "flood zone" aka near the ocean or problematic rivers
Health Insurance: If you don't have it you pay a fine. Generally, companies give you plans and you pay a premium to the company.
Dental Insurance: This is separate from health insurance. Not required but is a good idea.

I believe there is also insurance for vision (your eyes), obviously it's not required.
And then there's also Private Mortgage Insurance, which is for those who buy a house, but cannot put at least 20% for their downpayment. The mortgage lender will required this for conventional loans.

Car insurance in my location is far far to costly, even for an old car that has rust is still have £200. Yet the bigger the car engine size can be so high and think to myself how can young can afford the car yet the insurance unless they get lawn it from the bank. Home insurance in the otherhand is cheap and not so bad.. I mean very cheap

I only have the legally required ones at this point. That means, car, house, health. Yes, I live in a place where health insurance is legally required. We have a good social system like that.
I wouldn't mind other insurance, like life insurance as has been pointed out here. However, I'm not in a financial place to afford that...

We have home insurance against fire and natural calamities. It was required by the bank when we bought this house via mortgage. And when we had fully paid the mortgage, we continued the insurance. Our 2 cars are also insured for damages. It is called comprehensive insurance. I used to have life insurance but it has ended when the policy matured and the installments I paid were returned to me.

I know people from football that insured their legs, people tend to make an insurance for things they care about the most. In my case I only have an insurance for my car and my home, I don't afford to pay insurance for my health or other things.
