I am a young person but I do fear retirement. I feel like the next thing following is waiting for your death. Also, if one is not well prepared in terms of finance, they might end up being poor or if one is using his/her money after retirement should be careful not to end up being poor. I think, the best thing is to have your business, such that even if you retire, you have a source of income that gives you money continuously.

I think the fear comes when you don't have enough savings for your needs if you retire. Retiring supposed to be just relaxing and enjoying, but there are people i know that don't want to retire because of the fear of financial capability. Although retiring in the age of 60 is mandatory in my country, some elders still work because of their financial status.

I think the ones who haven't saved that much for retirement age are the ones that are very scared to reach that age. They don't want to retire yet because they don't have any means to provide for their family and themselves.
For those who do have enough investments and savings for retirement, they don't want to retire because they aren't used to a life where they don't work and they'll be missing their work a lot.

I think the right time to set your goals is when you are still working. At the time retirement gets you, you should be well guarded to prevent the fear of retirement. Many people do not care about their retirement when they are still working since they know very well that retirement is still too fay. What I would suggest is, it is always a good thing to plan for your retirement early enough before you retire. Some of the things one should do is to invest more money in businesses so that should one retire, he has something to keep him busy and give him some income.
